About Painting Peace
What is a Peace Pole?A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted monument that usually displays the message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth” and often in different languages. There are tens of thousands of Peace Poles in 180 countries all over the world, dedicated as monuments to peace.
Our MissionOur mission is to create symbols of peace that encourage harmony and inclusiveness in communities.
Our GoalOur goal was to create 100 peace poles by the International Day of Peace on September 21st and we reached 200 peace poles by that date!
How to Make a Peace Pole
Attend a WorkshopWe host workshops where people can create peace poles for their yard, garden, or community. In our workshops, we create 4x4 inch wide peace poles in an array of colors with this message and/or your own thoughts, quotes, or poetry, all with the intention of spreading a little more peace, love, and light in this world.
Make a Peace Pole at HomeIf you can not attend one of our workshops, we encourage you to create your own peace pole at home. Peace poles can be made out of wood, vinyl, or any other material that you can paint. Peace poles can also be various heights (from desk top version to 3 foot poles to 6 foot garden poles) and can be displayed indoor or outdoors.
Add your peace pole picture to our Facebook page or our website to have your peace pole to show off your amazing work toward peace! |
